SEEDS FOR CHANGE CHARITY
We are incredibly grateful to all of our generous donors!
In this Newsletter, you'll find an overview of everything we have achieved this year, as well as a look at the year ahead!
2024 - How it Started
Jan 2024 - Mbamba, Malawi
While travelling across Malawi in early 2024, I visited a small village and found that many children weren't allowed to attend school simply because they did not have a school uniform. The £7.90 per uniform was a cost that many families couldn't afford.
After sharing the story on social media, the first £1,000 was raised and with it we were able to purchase school uniforms, allowing more than 100 children to enrol in education.
That marked the beginning of Seeds for Change.
Jun 2024 - Chitimba, Malawi
In another rural village in Malawi, a small building was being used both as a classroom and an orphanage, with many children sleeping on the dusty floor each night.
A round of fundraising allowed us to build a new dormitory for the children and provide beds, as well as improve the existing classroom.
Oct 2024 - Magomero, Malawi
Many children in Malawi don't receive even one cooked meal a day. Malawi is the 5th poorest country in the world. We partnered with a local primary school in Magomero, to provide one meal of "posho" (local cornmeal porridge) for each child every day and have been supporting them since.
2025 - Seeds for Change
Feb 2025 - UK Charity Commission
Seeds for Change registered as an official UK charity!
May 2025 - Kihihi, Uganda
Many rural villages in Western Uganda border national parks and due to a shortage of government funding, few have sufficient fences between the village and park. This has led to many animal attacks on the locals and in the village of Kihihi has sadly left more than 50 orphans who don't have a proper home and have limited access to education. Our largest project to date has involved building an orphanage and primary school from scratch in Kihihi.
We began by purchasing a plot of land and connecting a water supply. We then started on a sizeable construction project, including building dormitories for boys and girls to sleep, classrooms for teaching, toilet blocks and more. We are four months into the construction and aim to finish by mid 2026.
Nov 2025 - Kihihi, Uganda
Malaria is the leading cause of deaths in Uganda, accounting for 44 fatalities per day in the country! After a serious outbreak in the local village where we were working, we helped by purchasing 60 mosquito nets, as well as additional food supplies (50kg of rice, 50kg of maize flour, 50kg of beans and a goat).
